Our first Flexible Learning Day

The first ever Flexible Learning Day at Neatherd High School saw Year 9 pupils take on the role of Journalists for the entire day. After an introduction from Ian Clarke (reporter from the EDP) the pupils were presented with four different news stories. The stories were concerning issues at school and also on a national level. Pupils then worked groups to report the news story using technology such as Podcasting, Video, web design, etc. The group made lots of decisions, from who did what to how to present their story. The very best news stories were presented to the entire year group and Ian Clarke, who awarded the prizes for the best few. Some good examples are available below:

Knife crime video (Rebecca Simpson)

Podcast (Danielle Heighington, Lucy Matthews, Tom Clarke)

Knife Crime Podcast (Arthur Bowles, Monty Slater, James Alcock, Aaron Francis)

Library Podcast (Emily Bates)
