Work begins on the new Library

Over this summer, the library is being transformed! Part of it will become a new school reception, and a new mezzanine floor will be put in to make the space back up.
Pupils and staff probably noticed the library being stripped bare last week – and now work has begun!
Inside the new building

Earlier this week, the school governors were given a tour of the inside of the new building. We sent some spies in with them to take photos!

Last week, the scaffolding down one side of the new building was removed, allowing us to see what the outside looks like. Until then, it had been entirely shrouded in plastic sheeting.
So, it seems to be wood panelled and, red? Orange? Burnt sienna?

For the last few months, there haven’t been any obvious changes to the new building. A window on the corridor above the canteen has been boarded up, but nothing else seems to have happened. Metal framework finished

And some of the roof, and much of the flooring, have already been installed!
Almost joined…

The Canteen and the Peggy Duigan buildings are almost joined together now by the new metal skeleton.
